Dear Old Friend,
I know that life has a funny way of beating us down. Like we are rats that belong in a sewer. But we don’t belong in the dark tunnels underneath the city, instead we belong twelve stories high feeling accomplished and brave. I know that I haven’t been the kindest friend to you over the years. I chose the selfish path instead of the loyal one. And when I abandoned my past life I also abandoned you and for that I apologize. I want you to know that I have always thought highly of you and kept you in my prayers.
We talked recently after six years of silence. We really talked. About life and the troubles it brings. Man, it was great to hear from you. A surprise but a wonderful one. I discovered that you have felt and gone through a lot of the same things that I have and I have some words I would like to share with you.
Despite what the world says, how your ex’s treated you, the rejection you have faced know that you are worthy of love. Without a shadow of a doubt you are worthy. You are beautiful the way your are. You don’t need to shed pounds or starve yourself. You, are beautiful. You’re smart. You’re creative. You’re strong. Brave. Wonderful. Confident. Courageous. Nurturing. Powerful. Riveting. Compassionate. Worthwhile. Radiant. Caring. Admirable. Precious. Dedicated. Good. Loved. Hear these words and say them aloud to yourself and KNOW without any question that they are true. Don’t ever say you are not good enough. If anyone says otherwise then it’s their loss for not seeing how AMAZING you are.
The struggle you are in today is only preparing you for the strength you will need later. I know that the water is murky but that doesn’t mean you can’t swim to the other side.
Please bare with me, I don’t mean to sound like a preacher I’m just letting you know that you are valued and you deserve the very best life has to offer.
I will leave you with this:
“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10 NLT)
He is with you. Holding you in His arms even when you hate Him. Even when you don’t want to believe. He is there. Loving you more then I ever could.
Always in my thoughts & prayers
