Awhile back I wrote about how I was working on a book and then a posted a few chapters to gage my progress, gain insight, and receive feedback.
I was very happy with the advice and critiques I received. I spent a lot of time taking what people said to heart and fixing a few things here and there.
Well today I would like to post another tiny snippet from my book. Enjoy!
She slowly walked out of the room, closing the door softly behind her. I sat at the edge of the small bed smelling the blood that had been lodged in my mouth from biting my tongue. I spit as far as I could, causing a weird splashing noise on the cool concrete floor. I pushed my beanie down below my face and let out a horror movie scream. I hated not understanding. Not knowing. Feeling like the ground beneath me has melted away.
My pulse was beating faster with every second that passed by, allowing a lethal dose of anger to course through my veins. Leaping off the bed I picked up the chair she had been sitting in and tossed it across the room. It’s amazing what a little adrenaline can do to a person. I ran out of the door and up the basement stairs. I was running so fast I could hardly tell where I was or where I was going but somehow I ended up on the beach. I dropped to my knees and starting throwing the white sand everywhere. I stood up and ran into the ocean, calf deep, and just starting kicking the water.
