The air was heavy between us as we sat around the coffee table again. I took my usual place on the loveseat and he took his usual place on the floor, propped against the futon. I curled my knees to my chest and started to trace my teeth with my fingers while I waited for him to say something. Anything.

Watson grips the chair and pushes it harshly into the desk behind me, “Do. Not. Play. Games. With. Me. Boy.” He spits out, “I am a kind man but she is like a daughter to me and I see the way you are looking at her.” His bite is sharp and I am left stunned. I watch as he walks away without so much as a glance back in my direction.

I reach out and cradle his face in my hands, my thumbs resting below his eyes, catching his tears. “Me too, Jax, me too.” He rests his forehead on my shoulder and wraps his arms around me tightly. My arms squeeze around his neck and I feel him start to shake. We stay like that for awhile, crying together, grieving together, trying to find solace.
“I just witnessed my best friend get murdered and survived two gunshots! If I feel like getting drunk I am going too.” I snap. They were right though, I never drank. It wasn’t my thing but hours ago we laid Juliet to rest and I realized that her murderer could have been watching us, or me rather, for awhile. Call me crazy but that was a hard pill to swallow.
Ok, so I will just say it - this blog post is a tad weird. I mean who blogs about nose zits? Well, I have been battling this WHOLE month with acne on my nose, INSIDE and OUTSIDE. I ripped my heart out of my chest and placed it beside him. Not really, of course, because that would be gross, but it is what it felt like as I left him on his bed to sleep. My heart resting there beside him, beating, raw, and bloody. He wanted to guard my heart, to protect me, well this was his chance because it was their with him on his bed wrapped tightly in his arms. My heart stayed with him, while I slipped across the room to steal a t-shirt and shorts from his dresser. It would stay with him until he was ready to make me his. I sighed deeply preparing to leave my heart behind, Praying I would have it back one day.
I made it to the bathroom but not in time to lock myself inside. So I leaped in the bathtub and tried hiding lamely behind the curtain. He jumped in after me and slammed me to the shower wall tickling my ribs. His face was all red and gooey. I looked up and noticed that the shower head was the detachable kind with a hose. Thinking quickly I reached to grab it with one hand and blasting the cold water with the other. He was soaking wet and the bathtub floor was now red. Archer made a weird grunt noise and grabbed for the hose which only made us wetter. I ducked under his arms, out of the tub, and ran toward the living room laughing. He caught up with me and tackled me on the couch.
